Qld: Family of four rescued from rising water by helicopter

BRISBANE, Dec 23 AAP - A family of four have been rescued by police helicopter after
becoming stranded in a north Queensland national park.

Police received a triple-0 call at about 6pm (AEST) on Monday when rising water stranded
the four on a walking track near a camping ground in the Cape Bowling Green National Park.

A helicopter was used to find the group and the four were winched to safety, police
said in a statement.

The 33-year-old man, 34-year-old woman and two children were taken to Townsville Hospital
as a precaution.
