NSW: Nick Whitlam resigns as chairman of NRMA Insurance Group

NICK WHITLAM has announced he will stand down as chairman of the NRMA Insurance Group.

Mr WHITLAM will remain a director of NIGL for the immediate future and will also continue
in his role as president of the NRMA.

In a statement Mr WHITLAM says the transitional arrangements following demutualisation
of NRMA Insurance Limited are now complete and it is time for him to focus on the NRMA
itself.

He says it is also time for a new chairman to be appointed to NIGL which has separate
goals and interests to the NRMA.

Mr WHITLAM says NIGL and NRMA have many strategic interests in common but ultimately
they are separate organisations with their own goals and quite discrete interests.

He says it is his view they should now be chaired by different people, and my resignation
will enable this to happen.
