NSW: Young came at attacker: Hutchinson

A man who hit surfing icon NAT YOUNG claims YOUNG came at him, telling him to settle
the fight like men with guns.

MICHAEL HUTCHINSON has admitted he hit YOUNG three times after the 52-year-old surfer
struck his 18-year-old son LUKE.

Speaking on Channel Nine, he also says he was shocked at the front-page newspaper photographs
of YOUNG's badly swollen face, not believing he himself had done it.

YOUNG, 52, suffered two broken eye sockets and two broken cheek bones in the fight.

Mr HUTCHINSON, who says he was not paid for the Channel Nine interview, has also revealed
he was offered $20,000 for an interview from a rival television station.

A Current Affair host MIKE MUNRO says YOUNG was paid several thousand dollars for a
television interview last week.
